Gastronomy

Gastronomy is related to local agricultural and livestock products. Thus, migas and all sort of rice dishes- with rabbit, chicken, chickpeas, snails, saffron milk-cap mushrooms, cod… (bearing in mind the proximity of Calasparra with its Designation of Origin rice) are very popular dishes in this area.

It also worth tasting lamb in tartera (typical dish from Caravaca) and charcoal grilled lamb – local segureño lamb is classified with the PGI or Protected Geographic Indication. Cold meat, typical stews of spinach, celery, etc. and, especially, confectionery, in which highlights yemas and alfajor – typical Christmas pastry of this region, as well as homemade liqueurs like mistel and coffee liqueur, makinf a rich varied menu that delight all visitors.
