Carrilero Museum

Carrilero Museum

This exhibition is located in the old palace of Muñoz Otarola family where the local artist Jose Carrilero was born. This museum offers a 90 sculptures and pictorial works exhibition of this local artist.

In this way, the artist’s desire of having in his birth place his work is finally fulfilled, since for some time it was dispersed in different cities.

The work of this local artist characteristically expresses classicism harmonization with renewed point of view given by his personal touch. Caring particularly for the human figure, the surfaces and the contrast of light and shadows are notable features of his sculptures.

All this combined with relevance given to action and movement and the power to create dramatic emotions from formal means identifies his mature work, which has a national and international outreach.
