ToneladaSolidaria01La colaboración establecida entre la Fundación Camino de la Cruz y Armada Española -con el apoyo del Ayuntamiento de Caravaca y de diversas empresas murcianas- permite llevar a cabo por cuarto año la campaña ‘Tonelada Solidaria’, que suministrarámás de mil kilogramos de alimentos no perecederos a las delegaciones de Cáritas en la Comarca del Noroeste y a otras organizaciones sociales para ayudar estas Navidades a familias y personas que sufren falta de recursos.

La sede del Instituto de Turismo de la Región de Murcia (ITREM) ha acogido la presentación de esta iniciativa con la participación de su director general, Juan Francisco Martínez; del alcalde de Caravaca, José Francisco García;del coronel y comandante de la Fuerza de Guerra Naval Especial, FGNE, Domingo Manuel García, y del representante de Estrella Levante, Yayo Delgado.

Los militares cambiarán el material militar que portan en sus mochilas por alimentos y culminarán esta maniobra solidaria en la madrugada del próximo viernes, 17 de diciembre, tras recorrer una marcha a pie de 151 kilómetros, que coincide en su mayor parte con el trazado del ‘Camino del Apóstol’, la vía de peregrinación que une las ciudades de Cartagena y Caravaca de la Cruz. A su paso, repartirán productos de primera necesidad a las Cáritas parroquiales ubicadas en los municipios de Alguazas, Mula, Bullas, Cehegín y Caravaca de la  Cruz, así como a distintas instituciones y asociaciones benéficas con sede en el área de Cartagena.

El alcalde de Caravaca, José Francisco García, ha agradecido a los militares y a sus mandos su implicación en este proyecto; “una iniciativa que encarna perfectamente el espíritu de la Fundación de la Vera Cruz cumpliendo con dos de sus objetivos primordiales: colaborar con causas benéficas y promocionar las vías de peregrinación que llegan hasta la Real Basílica”. José Francisco García ha querido reconocer también “la labor del Gobierno de la Región de Murcia como miembro de la FundaciónCamino de la Cruz y de los patronos privados que también la integran, ya que demuestran siempre su carácter solidario con quienes más lo necesitan, materializandoideas y entregando despuéslos beneficios que se consiguen con ellas a nobles causas sociales”.

Por su parte, el director general del Instituto de Turismo de la Región de Murcia, Juan Francisco Martínez, ha declarado que “la campaña da continuidad a la línea de proyectos solidarios promovidos por la Fundación Camino de la Cruz, que este año han contemplado actuaciones como la recaudación del evento gastronómico de ‘Las Cocinas del Jubileo’ o de la competición deportiva‘Regata Camino de la Cruz-Trofeo Punta del Este’, retomadas tras el obligado paréntesis que supuso la pandemia”.

La recaudación de los alimentos se ha conseguido gracias a las donaciones del grupo de supermercados SPAR, Golosinas FINI, la entidad bancaria BBVA y a los patronos de la Fundación Camino de la Cruz que han participado directamente en esta acción: Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, UCAM, Postres Reina, Grupo Fuertes, Estrella de Levante y Limcamar.
