portadaCon el espectáculo de bienvenida de la Navidad se inicia el viernes, 15 de diciembre, la programación especial navideña, compuesta por alrededor de un centenar de actividades, ha sido presentada por el Ayuntamiento de Caravaca de la Cruz.

La Bienvenida de la Navidad, que los últimos años ha congregado a multitud de personas en la Plaza del Arco, tendrá lugar a las 20.00 horas, acompañada de novedades, entre ellas la participación de alumnado de la Escuela Municipal de Música y el Conservatorio 'Leandro Martínez Romero', encargados de poner la nota musical en directo a varios momentos de este espectáculo piro musical.

Las actividades se prolongarán hasta el viernes 5 de enero, cuando tendrá lugar una jornada completa dedicada al recibimiento de Sus Majestades los Reyes Magos de Oriente. Antes de esta fecha, pequeños y mayores podrán disfrutar de conciertos, actuaciones teatrales, talleres y torneos deportivos.

El público infantil es el indiscutible protagonista de la programación navideña. Entre las grandes citas programadas para ellos, además del espectáculo de Bienvenida de la Navidad ya mencionado, se encuentra el Desfile de Papá Noel, que tendrá lugar el sábado 23 de diciembre, a las 18.00 horas, o las Campanadas Infantiles, que se celebrarán el sábado 30 de diciembre, de 11.00 a 14.00 horas, en la Plaza del Arco.

Con el fin de descentralizar la programación del casco urbano, los talleres, cuenta cuentos, representaciones teatrales y el Buzón Real también tendrán como sede las distintas pedanías del municipio.

Por otra parte, el Ayuntamiento de Caravaca de la Cruz ha introducido algunas novedades en cuanto a decoración y ornamentación de espacios públicos. Destaca el gran árbol de los sueños de ocho metros de altura de la Plaza San Juan de la Cruz, que se suma a otros espacios como el Nacimiento del Templete o la Casita de Papa Noel de La Corredera. Además, calles y plazas se han iluminado con miles de bombillas led de bajo consumo, cuyo encendido tuvo lugar con el inicio del mes de diciembre como medida de apoyo al comercio local.

El Belén Municipal es otro de los atractivos de la Navidad caravaqueña. Instalado en la iglesia de San José del antiguo convento de las Madres Carmelitas, ocupa unos sesenta metros cuadrados y está compuesto por más 300 figuras estáticas y en movimiento elaboradas en el taller belenista de Jesús Griñán, junto a numerosas construcciones y juegos de agua. Permanece abierto al público hasta el 5 de enero, de 11.00 a 13.30 y de 17.30 a 20.30 horas (24 y 31 de diciembre abierto en horario de mañana y 25 de diciembre y 1 de enero cerrado).
