La prueba, con un recorrido de 48 kilómetros, se celebrará el 6 de julio, con un premio especial de montaña para los tres primeros ciclistas que coronen el ‘Collado de la Cruz’ 

Organizada por el Club MTB Caravaca, en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento, esta nueva marcha refuerza la apuesta del municipio por el cicloturismo

 

18/06/2024. La Marcha Ciclista ‘La Peregrina’ se incorpora al calendario de competiciones deportivas de Caravaca de la Cruz coincidiendo con la celebración del Año Jubilar 2024. La prueba se estrena el próximo sábado 6 de julio, organizada por el Club MTB Caravaca en colaboración con las concejalías de Deportes y Turismo del Ayuntamiento.

         Los jardines del Centro de Acogida al Peregrino fueron el escenario de la presentación de esta marcha cargo del alcalde, José Francisco García, y los representantes del club organizador, Jorge Soria y Juan Antonio Puerta.

 

José Francisco García quiso agradecer la implicación y la ilusión que el Club MTB Caravaca está teniendo en la organización de la marcha, “con la que se contribuye a reforzar la apuesta del municipio por el cicloturismo y la promoción de las condiciones idóneas que la Comarca del Noroeste reúne para su práctica”. En este sentido, el alcalde recordó la llegada al municipio de la última edición de ‘La Vuelta Ciclista España’ y la señalización permanente de la ruta ‘Alto de la Cruz’, que culmina en la Alberquilla. “Los participantes en ‘La Peregrina’ tendrán el atractivo añadido de realizar la misma subida se planteó para ‘La Vuelta’”, destacó.

         ‘La Peregrina’ es una marcha de carácter no competitivo, enmarcada en el calendario de la Federación de Ciclismo de la Región de Murcia. Está abierta a las categorías masculina y femenina cadete, élite, máster y e-bike. Constará de un total de 48 kilómetros y 1.400 metros de desnivel.

         La marcha atravesará términos municipales de Caravaca de la Cruz y Moratalla, con un grado de dificultad nivel medio. La prueba tendrá dos partes diferenciadas: una primera salida neutralizada que recorrerá parte del casco histórico de Caravaca (calle larga, Castillo, Plaza del Arco, Gran Vía y Templete) y un segundo trayecto que partirá desde el Centro Forestal de la Casa de las Piñas. La salida y la meta estarán situadas en Salones Castillo de la Cruz.

         El cupo de participantes se ha limitado a 500. Los mismos dispondrán de bolsa de corredor con maillot oficial de la prueba, tres puntos de avituallamiento sólidos y dos líquidos, refrigerio tras la prueba, medalla de participación y obsequios para los tres primeros corredores que coronen la cima del ‘Collado de la Cruz’. Igualmente, se contempla la asistencia médica durante el todo el desarrollo de prueba, personal de apoyo y servicio de ducha y aseos.
